Sunday Lunches

We always have a good turnout for our Traditional Sunday Lunches which are always freshly prepared and wherever we can we source as much as possible from our local area. Our meat is supplied from Waltons The Butchers in Willington who in turn sources his meat from local producers. Our Yorkshire Puddings are completely home made and our vegetables are fresh.

Moreover our prices are very reasonable ranging from £4.50 for your traditional favourites like Chicken, Pork or Beef roasts to £5.50 for Lamb. Every now and then we serve up something a bit different for you to try, like pheasant or duck (priced individually) which are always popular. We will serve up childrens portions at a reduced rate too (for under 14's only).

I am sure you will agree that represents fabulous value and quality but we want you to come time and time again, so that's why we also give out generous portions!

Booking is advisable but not always essential, so if you are passing at Sunday Lunch time then do drop in, we may be able to accomodate you and will try our hardest.

For those of you who do not know what it's all about it is where the local growers all meet to show off...

Brassed Off. On The Grass!

Brass On The Grass This event is pre-cursored by an open garden event earlier in the day...more news on that later. Brass On The Grass is something I really wish I could attend, there is a chance I might still be able to. This promises to be the epitomy of semi-rural middle classness. If...

Golf Day

Our annual golf day was a success with 56 entrants.  Three people scored 40 points with Micky Price taking 1st place having a better back nine. Jean Attle was the leading lady player scoring 37 points. Peter Blenkinsopp was last as usual (is threatening to never play again)

Belly Pork and Crackling

Looks like Belly Pork is a big favourite at the minute. Tonight we had the usual mixed bag on the board here at the Joiners in Hunwick. However that said the big seller was the Belly Pork with Crackling. It seems like people have cottoned onto the fact that this is a really tasty and moist bit of...

Visitors notice

Refurbishment works are ongoing but so far this has had little effect on the general ambience and geniality of the pub. We will soon have our much needed new windows fitted, wood like they always have been and then there is still a new bar, carpet and walls to complete. When will it be finished?...
